Danny hints at Portugal return; Monaco to cash in on Moutinho

hot-transfer-newsDanny hints at Portugal return

Zenit star Danny admits that he has received a number of offers from Primeira Liga, with a return to Portugal a realistic option.

The highly rated footballer left Sporting Lisbon in 2005 in favour of a switch to Dynamo Moscow and has since developed into one of top players in Russian Premier League.

Danny has spent last five years at Zenit St Petersburg, but with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, he has been linked with a return to his native country.

The 31-year-old has moved to confirm he has received concrete proposals from Primeira Liga sides.

“I would be lying if I said I did not receive some proposals, but, as I have said, I have a contract until the end of the season,” Danny confessed to A Bola.

“This is where I feel good and hopefully we can come to a conclusion of this process (contract extension) as quickly as possible in order to stay here.

”If I do not have anything concrete in December or January, I will certainly start looking for other solutions and there are already some that are quite tempting.”

Danny has proved to be one of Zenit’s best transfer deals in recent times, having managed 55 goals and 58 assists in 187 league outings.

Monaco to cash in on Moutinho

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Monaco are ready to listen to offers for star midfielder Joao Moutinho.

A U-turn in transfer strategy means that the Principality club are no longer looking for marquee signings, but rather turning their focus towards talented youngsters, with more big-name players expected to leave Stade Louis II in the near future.

Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho is likely to be next one through the exit door seeing as how Chelsea and Arsenal are very interested in his services.

As a result, Monaco are prepared to cash in on their prized asset, and have set the asking price at €30 million, €5m more than what they paid for him in the summer of 2013.

Joao Moutinho, 28, has since clocked up 44 league appearances, scoring 3 goals and producing another 8 assists.

Monaco will be in action on Wednesday evening as they face Bayer Leverkusen on the road, and they are 5/1 to win at Bay Arena.

Napoli set for January spending

Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Serie A giants Napoli will be spending heavily in the upcoming transfer window.

The Azzurri need to sign a new full-back, who can preferably operate on either side of defence, considering that Camilo Zuniga is still sidelined and Faouzi Ghoulam will soon be leaving for Africa Cup of Nations.

At the moment, Napoli are looking at Matteo Darmian, Luca Antonelli, Ricardo Rodriguez and Ricardo van Rhijn.

Meanwhile, the Azzurri also need to sign a replacement for forward Lorenzo Insigne, who could miss the remainder of the season through injury.

Wolfsburg’s Ivan Perisic appears to be their number one target, while the likes of Carlos Vela, Andre Ayew, Jeremain Lens and Yevhen Konoplyanka are also on club’s radar.

Following the disappointing draw with Cagliari, Napoli sit in third place, nine points behind Serie A leaders Juventus.
