Bayern Munich have confirmed that centre-back Dante is set to join Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old Brazil international was linked with the likes of former club Borussia Monchengladbach, Manchester United and Everton in recent weeks.
But it is Wolfsburg who have got their man, with Dante set to undergo a medical before signing a three-year deal with Dieter Hecking’s side.
Dante won the Bundesliga title in each of his three seasons with the Bavarian giants following his move from Gladbach.
He was also a UEFA Champions League winner two years ago and twice lifted the DFB-Pokal during a trophy-laden spell at the Allianz Arena, but fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “Dante simply wanted the chance to play regularly. We did not want to deny him this opportunity.
“We would like to thank Dante. FC Bayern enjoyed great success in his time at the club, with many wonderful moments and trophies. We’ve also come to know and value Dante as a very agreeable and likeable person. We wish him all the best for the future.”
