Darijo Srna back on Barcelona radar

Catalan giants Barcelona have rekindled their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk captain Darijo Srna, Sport has suggested.

It is now clear that full-back Aleix Vidal will be leaving the club in the January transfer window and it appears that the Croatian defender is being lined up as his replacement.

Rather than recruiting a talented footballer who would need some time to adapt to the new surroundings, Barcelona may decide to go for Srna and secure the services of the player with a wealth of European and international experience.

Considering that his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk is due to expire in June 2017, the veteran full-back should be available at a reasonable price.

Darijo Srna has spent last 14 years with the Miners, making over 300 league appearances for the club, while also representing Shakhtar in more than 100 European matches.

A move to Barcelona would certainly be the highlight of his career, but it remains to be seen whether the transfer will materialise.
