David Silva to snub Real Madrid?

The Metro is this morning reporting that Euro 2012 winner David Silva is set to snub interest from Real Madrid to stay at Manchester City.

Madrid have been weighing up a move for the midfielder – who was one of the best players in Poland and Ukraine – all summer, but it seems as though this will not come to anything.

Speaking about his future, Silva said: “My home is at City and I am totally satisfied there. My head is not at Real Madrid but at Manchester City.”

This will be music to the ears of Manchester City fans of course. He is a popular figure at the club and a massively important player in Roberto Mancini’s plans.

It also says a lot about City’s rise that they are able to defend interest from the might of Real Madrid for one of their players.

Silva is obviously excited by the project at the Etihad Stadium and wants to be involved as the club looks for major honours over the next few years.

As for Real Madrid, they aren’t having too much luck in the transfer market it seems with long-time target Luka Modric ready to pull out of a move to Spain according to The Sun.

The Croatian is now discussing  a new deal with Tottenham following Andre Villas-Boas’ arrival as manager.
