Karl Daxbacher will take over as FK Austria Wien coach next season after agreeing to leave Bundesliga rivals LASK Linz.

The 55-year-old, who played for Austria Wien over 14 seasons and coached the amateur team for four years until 2006, has agreed a 12-month contract with an extension for another season if they qualify for Europe. Austria, currently under the guidance of caretaker Dietmar Constantini, who stepped in two weeks ago for Georg Zellhofer, lie third, two points and places above LASK with one game remaining.
