Kevin de Bruyne will resist the overtures of Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen to stay at Chelsea, his agent revealed.
The 21-year-old is highly sought after following a succesful loan spell with German club Werder Bremen last season.
But agent Patrick de Koster insists new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen for the Belgium international to remain at Stamford Bridge.
“Kevin spoke to Jose Mourinho on the phone while he was in America and he clearly expressed that he wants him to play a part at Chelsea next season,” de Koster told Goal.com.
“Mourinho told him he wants to make him a better player and this is very good news.
“The desire of Kevin is just to play football and now has received the news that Mourinho sees a role for him at Chelsea, he is very happy to stay.
“There are a lot of clubs still interested. Dortmund and Leverkusen really wanted the player because he had a fantastic year playing for Werder Bremen and helped them to survive in the Bundesliga.”
De Bruyne made 33 appearances for Werder Bremen in the league last season, contributing 10 goals.
