The Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is happy at the club and has not intention to leave.
This comes after reports that the Spaniard was ‘homesick’ and he was being linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
However, the Red Devils shot-stopper insists he has no intentions to leave Old Trafford, and he has said: “I am happy at United and not thinking about a return to Spain.
“I’ve accepted the challenge to learn and improve as a professional, and fighting for my place gives me a bigger incentive to play well”
De Gea is of course often battling for the number one spot atUnited but does seem happy to have to fight for his place in the side.
At just 21-years-old, he certainly has bags of potential and the ability to go on and become one of the best keepers in the world.
After his superb performance against Chelsea in the English Premier League on Sunday, it is likely that Sir Alex Ferguson will pick him for the other crunch match with Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.
Never say never when Real Madrid are involved though and they could still come in with a huge transfer bid for De Gea, which United may have to really think about.
We shall see.
