De Guzman linked with Sunderland switch

Sunderland could be set to sign Napoli winger Jonathan de Guzman on loan, according to the Mail Online.

The 27 year old moved to Naples from Villarreal last summer, after spending two seasons on loan with Swansea City.

During his time at the Liberty Stadium, he played over ninety times, scoring fifteen goals while he was part of the squad that won the 2013 League Cup – netting twice in 5-0 final victory over Bradford City.

He has been capped fourteen times for the Netherlands, with three of those appearances coming at last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

De Guzman started just twelve league games for Napoli last season, scoring three times and now looks set for a move away, with Marseille also interested.

Sunderland registered their first point of the season at the weekend after drawing at home to Swansea City, though they are favourites to be relegated at 4/7.
