De Rossi last piece of the puzzle for Real?

Real Madrid have shown interest in Roma midfielder Danielle De Rossi, as Jose Mourinho looks to further reinforce the squad in the summer.

Los Blancos have expressed their desire to sign the Roma midfield maestro in the summer, according to a number of sports betting websites that have posted the bookmaker odds for the player to move to Real this summer.

As Marca reports, Jose Mourinho is looking to find a midfield partner for Xabi Alonso since he has been unimpressed with both Sami Khedira and Lass Diarra, and the Portuguese boss sees the Roma star as a perfect addition to los Blancos squad.

Having seen that his 4-2-3-1 formation was producing excellent results, Jose Mourinho is determined to stick to it for the following season and he believes Daniele De Rossi would be the last piece of the puzzle.

The Italian’s style of play largely resembles that of Xabi Alonso, as both players combine their aggressive style with excellent technical skills with great success, so it is little wonder the Special One is eager to pair the two players in midfield for the next season.

Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on De Rossi for a couple of years now, but the Italy international was not willing to move clubs because of his dedication to Roma, although los Blancos are hoping he will soon change this stance.

Roma have experienced numerous problems this season and with the Italian giants likely to miss out on the Champions League qualification, De Rossi could decide to leave the sinking ship should the right offer arrive.

Real Madrid should have no problems matching Roma’s valuation of the player which is believed to be around €25 million, and the Serie A side would be tempted to sell their most prized asset amidst doubts surrounding their ownership situation.

Los Merengues are also tracking Cesc Fabregas and Bastian Schweinsteiger, but Daniele De Rossi remains the number one target, not only because of his footballing qualities, but because he would be the easiest to acquire out of the three players.

The Italy international became a key player for both club and country just few years after making his debut for Roma and has since developed into a world-class player.

He was really unlucky not to have won more trophies during his career, but that is likely to change if he accepts Jose Mourinho’s call. De Rossi and Xabi Alonso would create one of the best midfield partnerships in world football, no doubt about it.
