Aston Villa could be set to agree a deal with Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy, according to the Mirror.

The Midlands club are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and are looking to add reinforcements as they attempt to claw themselves out of trouble.

Bayer Leverkusen have also been linked with a move for Debuchy, who has barely featured for the Gunners this season, largely due to the form of Hector Bellerin.

The France international has made just two Premier League appearances for the table toppers and looks to have played his last game for the club.

In total he has played twenty-two times for Arsene Wenger’s side with his only goal coming in last season’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Villa have taken four points from the last six available in the league but remain nine points from safety, and can be backed at 10/1 to stay up.
