Del Neri laments repeating mistakes

(GSM) – Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri criticised his players after their 3-3 draw against European minnows Lech Poznan last night.

It was their second consecutive 3-3 result after an identical setback against Sampdoria last Sunday.

“This result must make us look at ourselves,” said Del Neri after they fought back from 2-0 down only to concede a 92nd-minute equaliser.

“We get back from difficult circumstances, then we lose when we are meant to control the game. We tried too hard to get the third goal and became tired, so we should’ve lowered the tempo.

“A late goal can happen, especially as Lech scored a world class effort.

“The problems are always the same: lack of concentration and confidence in what we’re doing on the pitch. Today I didn’t see the quality of our opponents, but rather our own mistakes.

“In the Europa League when you make a mistake, you pay a heavy price. It’s strange, as our goalkeepers have had to make very few saves in these matches.

“We have to work on the team ethic and learn to be more clinical. We struggle to keep the tempo for 90 minutes and must work on our concentration.”
