Sydney FC forward Alessandro Del Piero is in talks over a move to Flamengo, Tutttosport has revealed.
The veteran striker has lived to regret his switch to Australia and is now hoping to leave the club for a new challenge.
Tuttosport understands that the Brazilian giants hope to take advantage of the situation and sign the player on a two-year contract.
Flamengo legend Zico has reportedly contacted Del Piero himself to try and persuade the Italian to accept an offer from Brazil.
Del Piero’s brother Stefano and agents working on the deal have already flown to Rio de Janeiro to discuss personal terms with the Brazilian club.
Alessandro Del Piero joined Sydney FC on a free transfer from Juventus last summer, and has scored 10 goals in 16 league appearances for the club.
However, he has been disappointed by the overall situation at the club and is seriously thinking about accepting the offer from Flamengo.
