Clint Dempsey believes the “quality” in Tottenham’s squad saw them to a tough victory at Stoke on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts took the lead in the third minute through Steven N’Zonzi’s header, but Dempsey levelled before setting up Emmanuel Adebayor for the winner in the second half.

And Dempsey was delighted with Spurs’ play as they took a crucial three points, to stay in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League place.
“It came to me perfectly and I just kept it straight, I was happy with the finish,” Dempsey told the club’s official website.
“We needed to get a goal to get back into the game and then push on to try and win the game. We kept going and had the quality to get the job done.
The American praised team-mate Adebayor for meeting his cross for the winner, and is happy with his individual contribution to the team this campaign.
“It was just about staying calm, getting my head up and I saw Ade (Adebayor) at the far post, trying to keep it hard and low and making sure the keeper couldn’t get a touch on it,” he added.
“It was a great finish, great composure.
“You always want to be a player that chips in with goals and assists. I’m glad I’ve scored some important goals this season and a few assists as well.”
