Liverpool have recalled midfielder Jordon Ibe from his loan spell at Championship side Derby County.

Liverpool have recalled midfielder Jordon Ibe from his loan spell at Championship side Derby County after almost five months at Pride Park.

The England Under-20 international made 24 appearances in all competitions for Derby, scoring five times, and will return to fight for a spot under Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

Derby were busy in the transfer market on Thursday as full-back Stephen Warnock arrived from Leeds United and striker Conor Sammon left for Rotherham United on loan.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Spanish striker Javi Guerra made the temporary switch from Cardiff City to Malaga for the remainder of the season, while Fulham were boosted by confirmation of a three-year contract extension for midfielder George Williams.

The Wales international is now under contract until 2018, with an option included for an extra year.

In League One, there was a double swoop at Ashton Gate as Bristol City moved for Wigan Athletic’s James Tavernier and Wolves’ George Saville.

The pair join on loan deals while Rotherham’s Scott Loach has been snapped up by Peterborough United for a month’s cover following a thigh injury to goalkeeper Ben Alnwick.

Bottom side Yeovil Town signed up free agent Gozie Ugwu for the remainder of the campaign, while Wolves’ Liam McAlinden and Ipswich Town’s Anthony Wordsworth joined Fleetwood Town and Crawley Town on loan respectively.

Billy Daniels moved from Coventry City to Notts County while Portsmouth were among the main movers and shakers in League Two.

Pompey snapped up Paul McCallum on loan from West Ham and released David Connolly, with the veteran forward linking up with AFC Wimbledon later in the day.

Clinton Morrison will remain an Exeter City player for the remainder of the campaign, having initially impressed on a non-contract basis, while Anthony Griffith moved from Shrewsbury Town to Carlisle on a free transfer.

York City extended Brad Halliday’s loan from Middlesbrough until the end of the season, with Adam Barrett and Jake Cassidy staying at Southend United until the end of the campaign.

Will Hatfield and Danny Crow had their contracts cancelled by Accrington Stanley and Newport County respectively, while Solomon Taiwo left Luton Town by mutual consent.
