English footballer Matthew Derbyshire joins current Greek league leaders Olympiakos on a six-month loan deal, depending on whether Blackburn Rovers manage to find a replacement.
Rovers announced that the 22-year-old forward had flown to Athens to sign a deal with the Greek side.
“He has not quite joined yet,” said manager Sam Allardyce. “He has expressed a wish to go and he would like the opportunity to play for them but, like anybody else, a replacement is critical.”
