Cesena appointed Domenico Di Carlo as their new coach on Monday following Pierpaolo Bisoli’s dismissal.

Bisoli was relieved of his duties earlier on Monday after Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at Atalanta left Cesena languishing in 19th position, just two points above cellar-dwelling Parma.

Cesena wasted little time naming a replacement, with former Livorno boss Di Carlo, 50, handed the reins until the end of the 2014-15 Serie A season.

“Cesena would like to announce that a agreement was reached this evening with Domenico Di Carlo, who has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2015,” Cesena said via a statement on their website.

“The new staff will be made up of the technical assistant Michele Santoni and fitness coach Lorenzo Riela.

“The goalkeeping coach, Francesco Antonioli, and the team physio, Danilo Chiodi, will remain on the current working staff.”

Di Carlo – who was sacked by Livorno in April after just 88 days in charge – will be unveiled to the media on Tuesday.
