Di Santo linked with Serie A move

The Sun understands that Wigan Athletic striker Franco di Santo could be moving to Italy in the summer transfer window.

Di Santo’s contract at DW Stadium is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and he looks set to leave whatever the outcome of club’s survival fight.

The 24-year-old is reportedly looking for a new challenge, with several Serie A clubs showing interest in his services.

According to The Sun, Lazio and Bologna are interested in luring the talented forward to Serie A.

Franco Di Santo began his professional career at Audax Italiano, where he spent two seasons before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2008.

The Argentine never quite managed to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge and was sold to Wigan just two years later.

He has since made a total of 90 Premier League appearances for the Latics, scoring 13 goals in the process, but has recently lost his place in the starting line-up.
