Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra insists he is not worried about his place at the Bernabeu.

The Malian has been out of action for an entire season due to injuries, but is not interested in leaving the club this summer.

“I am ready to start the new season,” he said.

“I want to show the new coach that I can be useful for the team. There are many rumours in the press, but no-one from the club has told me that I am not needed for next season.”

He added on his injury: “Since I got injured in October, I have only dreamt of returning to the team.

“Things are going well, and I am an optimist. When pre-season comes, I will be able to train with the rest of the team.”
