Diego Godin eager to join Atletico, Juve target Krasic and Aogo

Diego Godin wants Atletico Madrid move

Villarreal defender Diego Godin said he would like to materialize his transfer to Atletico Madrid in order to challenge for honors.

The two clubs are very close to striking a deal but the negotiations have been posponed due to Atletico’s trip to Thailand.

Godin, who spent last four years at El Madrigal, was one of key players in Uruguay’s push for the World Cup semi-finals and he looks to be ready for the new challenge.

“I wanted to take the leap. I always like to grow. Villarreal are a great team and for me, it was ideal to play for an organized club, which were not too big.

“I would now like to play for a team with more history and the one with title aspirations. All this makes me happy because it means I am on the right track and I have to go on.”

One of Atletico’s main problems over the years has been a very shaky defence, but together with new signings Filipe Luis and Rod Fanni, Diego Godin is the right man to plug the holes in the back line.

Juventus target Krasic and Aogo

According to the latest reports from Italy, Juventus are preparing bids for Dennis Aogo and Milos Krasic.

The Old Lady seems to have ended their interest in Edin Dzeko and they now have one space open for a non-EU player, which looks set to be occupied by CSKA’s Milos Krasic.

The Serbian international has made it clear he wanted to join Juve and it looks as though 15 million euros would be enough to close the deal. Negotiations between the two clubs are set to resume tomorrow.

After completing the deal for Milos Krasic, the Bianconeri are expected to step up a chase for Dennis Aogo, who could be a very good option for the problematic left-back position.

With Fabio Grosso looking to leave the club, Juve are desperate to add a high-profile left-back to the side since Paolo De Ceglie is the only recognized player in the team capable of covering the left hand side.

Hamburg’s Dennis Aogo is seen as the perfect solution to the problem and the Germany international would be available for 8 million euros. The 23-year-old has become a first team regular at Hamburg and he did very well for Germany at the World Cup, thus Juventus are on the way to get a very good player for a decent price.

Barcelona set to offer Dani Alves a new contract

Dani Alves’ contract with Barcelona runs for two more years but the club officials’ number one priority is to prepare a new deal for the Brazilian.

The full-back has just returned from the holiday following the World Cup and he hasn’t been informed of the club’s plans but the offer will soon be presented to him since Barcelona are eager to tie him to the club for at least few more years.

Alves was a subject of interest from Chelsea and Manchester City last season but he clearly expressed his desire to remain at Camp Nou and the Brazlian is thought to be happy to sign a new contract with the Catalans.

Alves is the only key player in the squad whose contract expires in two years’ time and no wonder Barcelona want to sort everything out before the new season starts.

If we disregard the transfer saga involving Cesc Fabregas, this transfer window can be considered closed for Barcelona, after signing Villa and Adriano, and once Dani Alves puts pen to paper to a new deal, the Catalans will be ready to conquer the world all over again.
