Diego Perotti nears Werder move

Spanish daily newspaper Marca has learned that Werder Bremen are set to complete the signing of Argentine winger Diego Perotti from Sevilla.

The Bundesliga side have agreed to sign the player on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy.

Malaga and Boca Juniors were also in the race, but Perotti ultimately decided to accept an offer from Bremen.

Having started his career at Deportivo Moron, the Argentine moved to Sevilla in the summer of 2007 and has been at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan since.

Despite showing a great deal of promise, the 25-year-old never quite managed to nail down a regular starting berth, with numerous injuries seriously hindering his progress.

Perotti went on to make a total of 117 La Liga appearances for los Rojiblancos, scoring 9 goals in the process, but everything suggests his six and a half year spell at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is coming to an end.
