Djibril Cisse set for QPR exit

French newspaper L’Equipe understands that French striker Djibril Cisse is set to leave QPR in the January transfer window.

According to the same source, Rangers boss Harry Redknapp no longer has the Frenchman in his plans and will instruct club officials to try and cash in on the player.

Cisse, 31, arrived at Loftus Road in a €5 million deal from Lazio in January 2012 and scored 6 goals in 8 Premier League appearances to help QPR avoid the drop on final day of the season.

He started the new campaign as an understudy to Bobby Zamora, but was then given a prolonged run in the side after the former Fulham striker picked up an injury.

However, the Frenchman failed to prove his worth this season, and went on to score just 3 goals in 18 league matches.

With QPR boss Harry Redknapp now looking to sign a new striker, Cisse has been deemed surplus to requirements.
