Arsenal centre-back Johan Djourou has joined Bundesliga side Hannover on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has failed to feature for the Gunners in a single Premier League game in the 2012-13 campaign.
The defender has only made two appearances in total for Arsene Wenger’s team this season in the League Cup, with Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker all ahead of him in the pecking order.
And with Hannover president Martin Kind previously declaring his club were ‘very interested’ in Djourou, the Switzerland international has agreed a move until the end of the current season.
A statement on Arsenal’s official website read: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Johan well for his time in Germany.”
Djourou is currently contracted to Arsenal until 2015, but Hannover are hopeful a permanent deal can be agreed at the end of the season if the player performs well in Germany.
