Dortmund challenge Inter for Lass Diarra

Borussia Dortmund are considering a January swoop for French midfielder Lassana Diarra, Bild can reveal.

The Millionaires were not planning to add any new players after recruiting Kevin Kampl from Red Bull Salzburg, but a shoulder injury to captain Sebastian Kehl may force them to change their plans.

Namely, the veteran midfielder is expected to miss at least few weeks of action and the club officials are now debating whether to sign him a replacement.

If the Millionaires opt to recruit a new midfielder, they could make a move on free agent Lassana Diarra, who is also on the radar of Inter Milan.

A contract dispute with Lokomotiv Moscow prevented the 29-year-old from finding a new club earlier, but with the matter now in FIFA’s hands, the former Real Madrid footballer could soon be cleared to find new employers.

Borussia Dortmund find themselves in the Bundesliga relegation zone, and they are 2/1 shot to defeat Bayer Leverkusen in their next fixture.
