Borussia Dortmund will not be signing any new players in the January transfer window, according to sporting director Michael Zorc.
The Millionaires were quite busy in the summer transfer window as they had to compensate for numerous departures of star players, with the likes of Mario Gotze, Ousmane Dembele, Emre Mor, Marc Bartra, Andre Schurrle, Mikel Merino, Raphael Guerreiro and Sebastian Rode all joining.
However, with quite a few important players missing a large chunk of action during the opening exchanges, the latest results have been well below the club’s standard.
That is why many expected the Millionaires to further strengthen their ranks in the winter, but sporting director Michael Zorc sees no reason why the club would do that.
“I do not see any need for winter transfers,” Zorc explained to Sport Bild. “The injured players will return gradually. Then the situation will improve.”
Having failed to win any of their last four league fixtures, Borussia Dortmund sit eight points adrift of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and are now 12/1 chance to lift the league trophy.
