Dortmund join race for Serbian starlet

Portuguese daily newspaper Record has suggested that Borussia Dortmund are hot on the trail of Red Star forward Luka Jovic.

The Serbian starlet has been generating a lot of interest ever since he scored on his first team debut in May 2014, and he has fared pretty well since despite being unable to nail down a regular starting berth.

Jovic, 18, has 12 goals in mere 15 league starts, which is an excellent record for someone who is still a teenager.

Up until recently, it was believed that Benfica were in pole position to secure his signature, with the youngster confirming he would like to get reunited with his Serbia Under-19 strike partner Ivan Saponjic at Estadio da Luz.

However, Record claims that Borussia Dortmund plan to hijack the deal by offering the forward higher salary.

Reaching an agreement with the player’s employers shouldn’t prove such a difficult task considering they had sold 70% of economic rights on his contract to an investment company a while back.
