Borussia Dortmund will have to do without Dede for the rest of the year. The Brazilian defender will have to undergo surgery on his right knee and won’t return before January 2010.
The 31-year-old left-back picked up his injury during Sunday’s match against Werder Bremen (1-1). Medical research proved an operation was necessary. It’s the third time Dede has surgery on his left knee after earlier operations in August 2008 and February 2009.
This July the unlucky full-back, who’s in his twelfth year with the club, broke his jaw.
