Dortmund step up chase for Zekhnini

Norwegian television station TV2 is reporting that Borussia Dortmund are stepping up their pursuit of Odd Grenland winger Rafik Zekhnini.

The Millionaires were impressed with the youngster’s performances when the two clubs met in this year’s Europa League and they have since closely monitored his services.

TV2 has now learned that Borussia Dortmund had no fewer than four scouts present as Odd Grenland faced Sarpsborg 08 last weekend, hoping to see the talented footballer in action.

However, coach Dag-Eliev Fagermo decided to leave Zekhnini on the bench, meaning the Millionaires’ scouting mission was a faliure.

The Odd coach remains adamant that they do not plan to cash in on their prized asset, and it appears that he intentionally left the youngster on the bench so as to spoil the plans for Borussia Dortmund.

Rafik Zekhnini, 17, has so far made 6 league appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals, while making another four outings in Europa League.
