Dortmund stopper wants Premiership move

Borussia Dortmund defender Felipe Santana has revealed that he would prefer to continue his career in the English Premier League.

The Brazilian has seen little playing time with Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic in front of him in the pecking order and he has already revealed his plans to leave Signal-Iduna Park in the summer.

Santana says he has yet to receive an official proposal, but hints at a move to English Premier League.

“There are no official offers. Of course, Spain and Italy are interesting countries,” the Brazilian said to Ruhr Nachrichten.

“But to be perfectly honest, for sporting reasons mainly, the Premier League is of interest.”

Despite being rarely used since his arrival from Figueirense, Santana is still held in high regard by boss Jurgen Klopp and other club officials, but it is unlikely that the Millionaires will stand in his way should he decide to leave.

Felipe Santana has spent last five years at Signal-Iduna Park, during which time he has made a total of 88 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 6 goals in the process.
