Andrea Dossena’s agent Federico Pastorello has revealed the defender’s transfer from Liverpool is still on cards and a Napoli shift could materialize when the transfer window reopens at the end of the year.
“The deal in August was real, but the problem was not just related to the contract,” Pastorello said.
“In fact, Liverpool, never even gave us the green light to deal with Napoli, at least not officially.
“Just over a year ago, Liverpool invested £8.5m plus bonus in Dossena and they weren’t willing to let him go for half that figure,†quotes Radio Kiss Kiss as said by the agent.
“What about January? He has played less this year and it is clear that Liverpool have to move him on. If Napoli wants Dossena, they know how.”
However, Riccardo Bigon, Napoli’s sporting director, claimed it’s early to say names but the club is indeed impressed by Andrea Dossena since he played in Treviso.
