Royston Drenthe should be able to participate at the Olympics later this summer, despite the knee injury the player suffered last week.
The Real Madrid player had to come off the pitch during the Dutch U-21 team’s match with the Swiss youth team, and feared a serious injury.
An MRI-scan now pointed out that the injury isn’t as bad as it could have been, which means that the Olympics are still a realistic target for the youngster.
Drenthe did have to miss out on a series of friendly matches that the team is currently playing in Sweden.
