Christophe Dugarry believes Laurent Blanc would be the ideal man to take charge of Paris Saint-Germain.
The managerial position is likely to become available at the Ligue 1 champions in the near future, with current boss Carlo Ancelotti widely expected to replace Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
Former Manchester United defender Blanc has been out of work since leaving his post as manager of the French national team, and is one of the names being linked with the job, with reports in his homeland claiming that the two parties have already agreed a deal.
And former France international Dugarry would back the appointment.
“It’s an excellent thing for Paris. And he’s not a second or third choice,” Dugarry told Le Parisien.
“He has enormous legitimacy. As a player he played in the biggest clubs and his past as a coach and national team coach are than respectable. It’s honestly a good thing the best in France is coached by a Frenchman.
“He’s in paradise for a coach. There are dozens who wanted to go to PSG. Laurent is an ambitious man. He wants to win. That’s why he turned down Roma, because he didn’t feel a unanimous will to win.
“He’s not come for the money. He’s already got that. He’s coming to know whether he can coach a top team. He’s firmly convinced of that. Now, he’s going to be able to prove it.”
