Reports in England over the past few days have linked Dutch playmaker Rafael van der Vaart with a move to either Manchester United and Chelsea. The 25 year old chose a surprise move to Hamburg in 2005 despite being courted by some much bigger clubs, but now he has announced his desire to go to a bigger club, reported the Daily Telegraph.
Chelsea has been linked with the player over the course of this past season, but they have failed to make anything materialize before the start of Euro 2008. Manchester United, meanwhile might start looking for a suitable replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, and van der Vaart could be their man, according to the same Daily Telegraph.
However the Dutch playmaker decided that he will not make any important decisions until Holland’s Euro 2008 is over.
“Everybody knows I am willing to consider a move but my main focus is purely on the national team.” Said van der Vaart.
“I’m not interested in anything else that can put me off.”
