Edin Dzeko has committed his future to Premier League champions Manchester City by penning a new four-year deal.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international striker moved to the Etihad Stadium in January 2011 from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in a reported £27million deal.

Dzeko has since gone on to make 155 appearances in all competitions, scoring 66 goals.

The 28-year-old stated that the decision to pen fresh terms until 2018 was a no-brainer.

“I’m really happy here at City, it’s a second home to me, so it was an easy decision to stay for the long-term,” he told the club’s official website.

“I knew from the beginning when I started here that I wanted to stay for a long time – I can’t see any place better than here.

“I’m settled perfectly to life here, I know my team-mates, the club, the team, very well and I feel like I can improve even more.

“Over the last three-and-a-half years we’ve made history together but I feel like we are only at the start of something really special.

“There are still so many objectives and goals that I want to reach from my career in the game and I believe that I am in the perfect place to achieve them all.”

Dzeko’s time at City has proved fruitful and he has won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup and the League Cup.

The former Teplice man joins a host of City stars to have committed themselves to the club since the end of last season, with David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov, Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri having also put pen to paper.
