Dzeko urges City to bid for Pjanic

Manchester City Edin Dzeko has asked his current employers to launch an assault on Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

The Bosnian striker has made it clear that he is not happy with his status at Etihad and everything suggests that he is going to leave Eastlands in the summer.

Nevertheless, Dzeko admits that the arrival of Roma playmaker Miralem Pjanic would make him remain at the club.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Pjanic came to City, and I sincerely hope he does,” Dzeko was quoted as saying in Metro.

“If Mire came to City then I would certainly not want to leave the Etihad. I sincerely hope that Pjanic will join City. I have recommended Pjanic before to Manchester City – they know all about him.”

Manchester City have been linked with a move for Pjanic in the past and they could return for the player in the summer transfer window as Roberto Mancini plans a major squad overhaul.

The 23-year-old was unhappy with the lack of playing time in the first part of the season, but his situation has changed since Zdenek Zeman was sacked.

Pjanic has been in fine form this season, scoring 3 goals and producing 4 assists in 19 Serie A matches for the Giallorossi.
