Edin Dzeko nears Roma exit

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko could be leaving AS Roma at the end of the current campaign.

The experienced forward joined the Giallorossi on loan from Manchester City in the summer, but automatic purchase option was activated shortly afterwards.

As a result, Dzeko is now tied to Roma until June 2020, earning around €4 million per campaign, but the club chiefs are not exactly satisfied with the impact he has made so far.

After scoring just 6 goals in 23 league outings and missing some glorious opportunities against Real Madrid, the Giallorossi are seriously thinking about cashing in on the Bosnian in the summer.

Dzeko is not too happy with the recent criticism he has received and he may agree to leave unless Luciano Spalletti can guarantee him regular playing time.

AS Roma did really well to kick-start their Champions League bid in Serie A and they are 8/15 favourites to achieve a top 3 finish.
