Edinson Cavani emerges as Everton target

Premier League outfit Edinson Cavani are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

According to the reports sent through the web by the host of Italian media, the Toffees are keen to test the water before submitting an official offer for the Uruguay forward who is currently the main talking point in Paris.

The 30-year-old in-form striker hit the headlines after refusing to hand the ball to Neymar for a penalty kick in a Ligue 1 match and subsequently getting engaged in a locker room bust up with the world’s most expensive player.

The two first-team stars have reportedly been at odds ever since Neymar’s arrival. The PSG owner has reportedly attempted to clear the air by offering Cavani a €1 million to give up penalties for Neymar which was later denied.

Should they fail to calm the storm PSG could be forced to pick a side and clubs around Europe are keeping a close watch on the situation ready to take advantage.

And with Everton still looking for ways to replace Romelu Lukaku – after failing to land Diego Costa and Olivier Giroud – Edinson Cavani has emerged as a shock target for the Toffees.
