El Salvador have qualified for this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup despite being beaten 2-0 by neighbours Honduras.
Carlos Pavon put Honduras in the lead from the penalty spot after 33 minutes and a distance shot from Marvin Chavez doubled the gap in the second half.
Honduras had already qualified and finish their qualifying campaign with a 100 percent record despite the absense of European-based players as Wilson Palacios, Maynor Figueroa and David Suazo.
Qualified so far:
United States (hosts)
Canada
Mexico
Honduras
El Salvador
Costa Rica
Jamaica
Grenada
Cuba
Guadeloupe
