Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike has vowed to emerge the highest goalscorer at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Spartak Moscow forward revealed he is confident of his team’s chances in the competition and his ability to emerge the highest goal scorer at the end of the tournament.

“I am very happy that we are in the quarter-final stage of this competition where anything can happen,” he told Goal.com.

“A lot of people have written us off like they did before we played against the Ethiopians but we not only emerged victorious, we also qualified to the quarter-finals of the competition.

“Before coming to this competition I prayed to my God and also worked very hard both in my club and in the national team.

“I can tell you that my ambition is to help my country win this competition as well as emerge the highest goalscorer of this tournament.”

The Super Eagles are set to play Ivory Coast in Sunday’s quarter-final showdown. Emenike has found the net twice from three games while strike partner Victor Moses has four goals.
