Emery eyes Banega reunion

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is eyeing a January more for Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, according to the Metro.

The pair worked together in both Seville and Valencia and the Gunners boss will look to seal a reunion when the transfer window reopens in January.

Banega is contracted until the end of the 2019/20 campaign though he is believed to have a buyout clause of £18m.
In this, his second spell with Sevilla he has played sixty times, scoring five goals having racked up ninety-two outings during 2014 and 2016 before moving to Inter Milan.

Internationally he was part of Argentina’s World Cup squad this summer with the last of his sixty-five caps coming in the 4-3 defeat to eventual winners France in the round of sixteen.

Having reached the final last season, Arsenal begin their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening.

They are currently 8/1 second favourites behind Premier League rivals Chelsea to win the competition.
