Lukas Podolski does not feel that England would pose Germany a problem if the two sides were to meet in the semi-finals of Euro 2012.

Joachim Loew’s men beat Greece 4-2 on Friday to seal their place in the last four, and the Three Lions can join them if they beat Italy on Sunday.

Podolski was dropped for the match against Greece but is expected to be back in the starting line-up for the next game, and claims he does not fear England.

“The team is confident and playing well,” he told The Independent.

“To score four goals in the quarter-final against a difficult side like Greece is good.

“Maybe it could be against England next and, if that’s the case, then of course it’s no problem. Now we want the final.”

The 27-year-old has recently signed for Arsenal, and says he is looking forward to life at his new club.

“I know (Arsene) Wenger has been at the tournament (Euro 2012), so maybe I will see him at the semi-final. I’m looking forward to next season.

“I think I’m going to score a lot of goals for Arsenal and I have to say I’m proud to play for them. It’s a great team with a great coach, great fans and great stadium. For me, it’s a very good move.

“I already speak some English so I don’t think it’s going to be difficult for me to settle in. I’m looking forward to it. But, first, I have a job to do here with Germany.”
