Boca Juniors’ Cristian Erbes insists his side are “relaxed” ahead of their Copa Libertadores quarter-final clash with Newell’s Old Boys.

Newell’s top the Argentine Primera Division, while Boca are languishing in 18th, but the Buenos Aries outfit defeated last season’s Copa Libertadores winners Corinthians in the last round.
The sides will square off domestically just two days after their meeting in continental competition and Erbes believes Boca’s 1-0 win over Colon on Sunday will give them strength going into Thursday’s clash at La Bombonera.
He said: “We are relaxed and happy ahead of the match, because of the two recent victories we had in the national competition and of course the result we achieved in Brazil and qualifying for the knock-out stages.
“For Thursday’s match we must try to repeat what we have already done.”
Boca snatched a 1-0 win in their home leg against Club World Cup holders Corinthians before Juan Roman Riquelme’s away goal set them up for a 1-1 draw in Brazil.
Erbes has called on his side to show their defensive solidity once again as they tackle Newell’s, who have netted 27 goals in their 14 league fixtures so far this term.
“We know they’re a good team, they are the top team in the Argentine Championship,” he added.
“They also fought throughout the tournament last season. We face a very difficult opponent. We have to repeat what we did against Corinthians and try to win this one.”
