The Ivorian striker opened the scoring in the 19th minute before adding two more goals in the second half, while Marco van Ginkel netted a brace of his own for the visitors.
Lerin Duarte, Geoffrey Castillion and Ninos Gouriye found the net for Heracles, who had Thomas Bruns sent off for a second bookable offence in the closing stages.
Vitesse are five points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven, who have a game in hand against Feyenoord on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Marcel Seip struck the decisive goal in VVV-Venlo’s 1-0 win over RKC Waalwijk.
Venlo are now just one point away from league safety on the back of two consecutive wins.
In other matches, Michael de Leeuw struck three minutes into stoppage time to hand Groningen a 1-0 victory over PEC Zwolle.
