Feyenoord came from two goals down to defeat bottom-placed VVV Venlo 3-2 in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

VVV, who entered the match without a win this season, made a superb start to the clash at the Seacon Stadion De Koel.

Initially it was Oguzhan Turk who gave them the lead after 19 minutes and just two minutes later, Ton Lokhoff’s side doubled their advantage as defender Guus Joppen claimed his first goal in 10 appearances for his new club.

But Feyenoord would not lie down and produced a goal on the stroke of half-time to give them hope of salvaging the game.

A Lex Immers penalty – scored in first-half stoppage time – lifted Feyenoord and they levelled proceedings just two minutes into the second half.

Wesley Verhoek did well to side-foot in John Goossens’ cross from a tight angle for the equaliser.

And when Verhoek turned provider, setting up Italian forward Graziano Pelle for Feyenoord’s third goal on 64 minutes, the result was sealed as Feyenoord climbed up to fifth on the table.

FC Utrecht also came from behind with goals from Alexander Gerndt and Jacob Mulenga giving them a 2-1 win at ADO Den Haag.

Rajiv van La Parra bagged a double in Heerenveen’s 3-0 win over FC Groningen while newly promoted PEC Zwolle moved out of the relegation zone thanks to a 2-1 triumph at RKC Waalwijk.
