Esteban Granero set for Real Madrid exit

Spanish newspaper Marca understands that Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero is expected to leave the club this summer.

Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin left Santiago Bernabeu to join Liverpool few days ago and Esteban Granero could be the next player to leave.

The 25-year-old has become surplus to requirements following the arrival of Luka Modric and Marca claims los Blancos are looking to send the player on loan by the end of the transfer window.

Jose Mourinho still sees Granero as a player who could have a role to play in the future, which is why he is only interested in a loan deal.

The Portuguese coach believes regular playing time would do the player a world of good and he is willing to consider offers from interested clubs.

Real Betis and Malaga both attempted to sign Granero last January, while Tottenham and QPR have been showing interest of late, so it looks as though he will either stay in La Liga or move to the English Premier League.

I’m so happy to hear that Sahin finally joined Liverpool. Not only is he gonna have a chance to play regularly, also my second favourite team’s been filled with a talented player.

As for Granero, he should do the same thing that Nuri did as I don’t really see any chance for him to win a “starting eleven” place when there’s a huge competition such as Ozil, Khedira, Diarra, Alonso and now Modric…
