Eto’o set for Everton stay

Everton forward Samuel Eto’o is set to be rewarded with a new contract after an impressive start to life of Merseyside, according to the Metro.

The four-time African Player of the Year moved to Goodison Park on a free transfer in the summer having spent last season with Chelsea and he has so far scored four goals in eight appearances across all competitions.

He originally penned a one year contract with an option to extend for another twelve months based on appearances, and the 33 year old is well on course to stay with Roberto Martinez’s side.

Having begun his career with Real Madrid, Eto’o has racked up a whole host of major honours during spells with Mallorca, Barcelona and Inter Milan while internationally he was part of the Cameroon squads that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2000 and 2002.

Everton host Swansea City tomorrow afternoon, with Eto’o priced at 9/2 to get the first goal of the game.
