Eto’o set for MLS switch

The Guardian understands that Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has decided to move to the MLS at the end of the current campaign.

The Cameroonian has only signed a one-year deal with the Blues in the summer, and it looks as though he won’t be staying in London beyond the current season.

With several MLS sides showing interest in his services, the veteran forward seems to have made a decision to move to the United States in the summer.

LA Galaxy, DC United and Club Deportivo Chivas are all keen on Eto’o, with Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire also in the mix.

Samuel Eto’o hasn’t quite managed to nail down a regular starting berth since returning to Stamford Bridge, and has scored 2 goals in 9 Premier League fixtures.

With Romelu Lukaku set to return in the summer and the Blues also likely to sign another striker, he is well aware that he will have to leave the club in search of first team football.
