Everton have suffered a cruel blow before their Premier League campaign gets under way against Blackburn overs on Saturday at Goodison Park.
South African midfielder Steven Pienaar picked up a broken toe on Saturday in the pre season friendly against PSV Eindhoven.
The twenty six year old is set to miss the first six weeks of the season.
