Competition: FA Cup
Market: Everton to win against Carlisle
Odds: 4/9 @ William Hill

Everton travel to face Carlisle United in the FA Cup fourth round this afternoon, and are big favourites to dispatch of the League Two side. The Toffees are coming off the back of a Capital One Cup semi-final exit so manager Roberto Martinez will be desperate for a response.

Carlisle have been inconsistent in recent weeks, but will have been looking forward to today’s FA Cup clash for some time, so their performance will be typically full-blooded and energetic. They’ll be compact and hard to play against, allowing the opposition the lion’s share of possession.

Everton are expected to win at Brunton Park, but they may find the early stages difficult. The Toffees will have to be patient for an opening, but they certainly have the quality at their disposal to unlock any defence, and they’ll be desperate for another cup run to make up for their recent disappointment.

Carlisle are sure to make life difficult for Everton at times, but the gulf in class between the two sides should show by full time. Everton are being backed by William Hill with odds of 4/9 to see past United.
