Everton and Villa in for Vidic

Everton and Aston Villa are set to battle for the services of former Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic, according to the Express.

The 34 year old looks set to leave Inter Milan, for whom he has not made a single appearance this season due to a herniated disc.

The Serie A leaders look ready to offload the defender in January and are on the lookout for a replacement as they look to win a first league title in six years.

Vidic moved to the San Siro in the summer of 2014 and racked up twenty-eight appearances in all competitions in his debut season with the club, scoring his one and only goal in a 3-1 win over Genoa back in January.

He spent nine seasons at Old Trafford and picked up five Premier League winners medals in that time, as well as triumphing three times in the League Cup and once in the Champions League.
