Everton complete McGeady signing

Everton have completed the signing of Aiden McGeady from Spartak Moscow for an undisclosed fee, the Mirror understands.

The 27 year old, who has been linked with a move to the Merseyside club for some time was expected to join in the summer when his contract was due to expire, but has joined immediately and could make his debut against West Bromwich Albion next Monday evening.

The Republic of Ireland international was introduced to the Goodison Park faithful ahead of the Toffee’s 2-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, a result which has kept them in touch with the top four in the division.

In his three-and-a-half years in Russia, McGeady made ninety-three appearances in all competitions, scoring thirteen goals and securing a second place finish in the Premier League in the 2011/12 campaign.

Prior to his move to Moscow, the winger spent seven seasons with Celtic where he won eight major trophies including four league titles, while internationally he has scored three times in sixty-three appearances.
